Season's over, some sadness of course, but spring turkey is ahead and of course, fishing. I was wondering how many of you still use your LT in the off-season for fishing? I want to finally install the bow mount trolling motor- got it as a gift- just need to make a base to mount it. Sometimes I wish I still had the 25 Merc conventional outboard to swap out but sold that. I do have the battery up front so connection will be a little easier and wondering if there are any tips, suggestions on bow mount trolling motors? Fishing for bass sure is a stress reliever- I don't rush around like those ADD tournament guys.

My boys fish with mine all the time. Also got a transom mount cheap trolling motor since I'm sitting back there anyhow

Don't let it hender you one bit. I kinda like listening to the guys I. Their $30,000 bass boats talk shit then I fire up and drive through about 4 inches of water to get to a hole they can't get to and then they really go off. Have fun with it

10-4 on that, coupe! One of those fast freddi bazzers that roared by swamping my rig stopped up by a friend in a mud motor that was in the skinny and asked if it was safe to go in there and maliciously he said "yes" so the basser roared in to the skinny at top speed and then we heard a big shearing/breaking sound- that was his lower unit- and I could not help but laugh...hey, coupe, what motor is that? I don't recognize the carb setup! Good hull too!

That my friend is a predator 420 CC on a aluminum homemade longtail frame. I don't have it.anymore. I now have a 16gdlt. That's the weldbilt 1436 crawdad. Good boat. Son of gun is a tank. Anyhow, I've got a hot foot set up on the front of the boat. Does anyone have any.experience with a transom style mounted foot control trolling motor? Cause there's a tab mounted to the front of the.boat for one. Like this VVV. Might be looking for a 12volt one if anyone has one just laying around

I run lines on a shallow river as soon as the ice comes off so mine never gets a break.

Real good, Cajun! A duck boat must get, now and then, both fish and duck blood on its thwarts and decks! You'll eat well with that catch!

My rig is the only one I have. Besides chasen ducks, bass fishing is my addiction. I use my rig all the time. I'm running a 31 HP GDLT on a 1542 war eagle. I got a min kota 40 tiller handle trolling motor. I took the tiller off and turned it around backwards so I can use it in the front of the boat. I made my own mounting bracket out of some scrap aluminum we had in the shop and a scrap peace of 2x4. I just keep my trolling battery up in the front on the casting deck with me. I love fishing out of my rig especially down here in SC on the Santee lakes. I can get in places people wont take their bass boats and I don't have to worry about the stumps as bad when out in the stump fields like I would in a fiberglass boat. Only thing I wish I had was a depth-finder.

I plan on bass fishing out of my Alumacraft 1648mv with a 20hp Beavertail longtail. I have a bow mount trolling motor. Have you guys had any trouble getting around on the trolling motor with the longtails hanging off the transom?

Having a ribbed boat will really help you steer. As far as the motor being back there, I never had any issues. I'd think you'd be just fine.

Now that I think about it my response to the question concerning longtail in off season should have been "off season?"
