 14x36 with 13hp SWOMP BW
Placed a question up here last summer about what to purchase with my jon boat....went with the 13hp over the 10hp and couldn't be happier. Here are a few pictures.

You can always swap your motor the 23 in the future as well. But a 23 on a 1436 would be a bit much I would have to agree.

I would run a 23 on a 14x36 with no hesitations, you already have the same weight. Brace the transom up and If you tear a hole in it you just tear a hole in it

Could you post a better picture of the brush guard you've built on the front of the boat? I'm gonna be putting a rig together here soon and that looks really cool and useful.
