Hey guys, new to the forum and need to pick your brains. Never owned/operated a longtail before and need some help. Is it a common problem for the motor wanting to buck out of the water at 1/4-3/4 throttle? If it is is there a cure or just nature of the beast? And do you need to adjust and set the tilt set bolt before using the motor?. Rig is a 1756 g3 and motor is a marsh monster 35 hp.

Why not call the manufacturer?

assuming this is a longtail bend the trailing edge of the cav plate up slightly with a big cresent. Do it a little at a time until it rides just below the surface. also a little bending goes a long way

Not familiar with their frames but adjusting your cavitation plate will solve the issue of coming out of water. Post a pic of it and your trim bolt. Should be a nice setup with a 35 on that big hull!

Angle of that cav plate looks weird, on my GDLT the plate is much closer to the prop. Regardless bending that plate should fix your issue.

I see the angle. Idk why the plate would b so far away from the prop. And new to mud motors so is the an advantage/disadvantage to it?

The cavitation plate keeps the prop at a specified depth when running. You ideally want the top of the plate 2-3" under the surface when on plane running wide open. I can see mine under the surface when running.

These are NOT surface piercing props like on the surface drives. They must be completely submerged in clean water to work properly. If you are getting air bubbles in the water before the prop it will also cause it to come out of the water. Next time I'm out I'll try to get you a video. I was out today. If I had checked this I would have done it then....

I am  I stayed close'ish to the house where I had phone signal hahaha. If I got a call they'd just have to wait till I got back to the boat ramp. I pulled the boat with the service truck :D

I've done similar. When I had my air boat I pulled it to lake ****** in the northeast Dallas area with my 2½ ton service truck. The looks I got from people passing me. Like its alittle overkill isn't it? One guy ask at a gas station why such a big truck to tow that boat? Told him I was going to use the Crane on the truck to get the Gators out of the boat at the ramp :P

I may or may not have used mine to take the boat off the trailer to replace my boards.... Lol
