I found a 1980 alumacraft 1872 with a 31hp go devil with about 80 hours on it. I was wondering what a fair price is? He was thinking around 4500. |

That seems a little high to me. How old is the motor? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think 4500 would be fair. I would make sure the motor looks to be cared for, and not just trashed, but i wouldn't worry very much about the age of the motor. Others will definitely disagree, but if it was taken care of, age matters way less than hours. And 80 hours isn't very many. The condition of the boat would factor in as well. It's a bit wide of a boat for a longtail on concept, though (the going standard is longer, with less width to get the most out of a longtail). I think it's enough width, it would run good. Does it have a bunch of weight (boxes, waterlogged foam, etc)? I would think if it's not too heavy, that should be plenty of motor, depending on planned use. |

motor is a 2008. From the pics that I have seen it has a big blind but I would be removing that. no gun box just metal floor. Mainly gonna use the boat for hunting but would use it for fishing every once in awhile. |

1872 with a 30 hp motor and a boat blind. That is a big boat the 30 hp Johnson is not going to push that very fast I'm not sure it will get on plane it it is loaded down with a bunch of gear. Personally seems a bit mismatched to me. Good luck! |

Just noticed this was a longtail. ya ant going to get 10-12 out of it and i would think 3000 is to much at lease around here. |
