 What size for my motor
Hey yall, I accidentally posted in the wrong section so here it goes second time around.. I am going to be selling my 9hp longtail to a buddy of mine. He wants to use it mainly to get into spots, not to actually hunt out of. He generally hunts alone with his dog, maybe another person and not much gear at all. He is looking for the cheapest jon boat option so I figured i'd see what yall thought about a 12' jon boat. Would that be big enough to hold that weight, just to get out in the swamp to spots ? thanks

Re: What size for my motor
"buddy of mine" got arrested for throwing frozen pizzas at cop cars - discus style. Hunted 2 guys out of 12 foot alumina craft for years no problem – gets tight with gear

Re: What size for my motor
My first MM was an old 8hp Briggs GD. I ran it on a 1448 rivited. It was slow but It got me places no one else around here in N MN could get, very few MM up here. Might be a little spooky on a 12' with any kind of load on.

Re: What size for my motor
Tell him to get on craigslist and find an old 1436. It's a good size for a guy and a dog and gear. And you can find one for next to nothing.
