Guys,

Need some help! I got a lead on a brand new vanguard engine with a 1 7/16" shaft. (I sell bigger engines to briggs) How can I make this work? I just bought a 18 ft jon and looking to add a mud motor but want to stay as cheap as possible. All help would be greatly appreciated!

Buy a B....water frame and buy the u joint to go from 1 7/16" to 3/4" . If they don't make one the have one bored and broached at a machine shop.

Does anyone know if the do make the u joint for the shaft? It's a 31 hp vanguard with a 1 7/16" shaft. Any ideas on how to make it work with a frame kit would be appreciated. I'm going to talk to the machine shop about knocking it down to 1"

Instead of making your crankshaft 1", it'd be A LOT easier to make your u-joint yoke 1 7/16".

I 7/16" UJ end yokes are less than $25.00 In the 1000 series UJ they will match up to a 3/4" or 7/8" driveshaft.

You get what you pay for bub. If you go cheap, sooner or later you'll wish you had saved a few hundred more dollars and gotten a good frame.
