I ship my motors all over the US and occasionally Europe. I build a crate out of 1/2" OSB for the bottom and 1/4" plywood under layment for the other sides and ends. I use 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" for all of the inside corners. I reinforce some parts of the bottom with 2x4s for where the motor bolts to the bottom. I ship by common carrier like Old Dominion. I used to use them exclusively. They gradually creep-ed up the rate till it got ridicules. Shop carriers. They will often negotiate. I now pay less than $200.00 to ship a long tail motor and frame any where in the US. Some times way less. Mark F. Cheney |
