 16 GDLT
Hey guys, goin to look at a 16GDLT tomorow. The seller says he bought it last year from a guy and he put maybe 10 hours on it last year. he said the 9x3 prop looked good and just had it serviced and checked at the local dealership. They said it was in real good shape. Is there anything else i should look for? HOpefully this thing is nice and i can get my first legit mudmotor Thanks, Josh

Not alot to um. Motor, shaft and prop. If its almost new or rode hard you can tell by looking. Fire it up make sure it runs and check the shaft for play and or wobble. Remember buying one leads to owning two..

 Re: 16 GDLT
The guy selling it put 10 hours on it last year, he didn't say the motor had 10 hours on it. Muffler won't tell you chit. Also, the prop can have slack in it, just make sure the u-joint doesn't. No big deal if it does they are cheap just as sealsm shafts, bushing and bearings. Main concern is the engine and integrity of the frame.

 Re: 16 GDLT
Right now shes goin on a 15ft duracraft semi v hull. But her final destination is on a 13ft 1969 skeeter hawk. shes stable as a rock and has a low profile. just gotta replace the transom and front floor. Not lookin for a speed demon, just somethin to deal with the hyacith and shat we got around here.

I think you would be ok on the 15’ or 13’ but as you said you are not worried about speed and that will not be a speed demon but I am not sure what kind of load you plan on carrying. That will also affect our performance. My cousin has the same motor on a 15’ allumcraft and with two guys and light gear does ok.
