Both shafts will have to be secured by bearings bosses and that's for a straight line connection, not like a universal joint that will "bend"

I guess you could put one on the end of the engine shaft, then a short shaft to a u-joint, then it would act as a shock absorber when the prop strikes objects but other than that, I don't see a use for it.

I have a universal 3/4"to 3/4". I'll have to get 1" half to fit my 20hp.
