Hello guys. I am new to mud motors and could really use your help. I just picked up a Beavertail longtail with a Honda gx620 20hp engine. I rebuilt the carbs on this thing today and need to know what the revs should be at idle and WOT while outside of the water. The engine has a tiny tach hooked up to it. It is spinning a 9x5 prop that has very little wear. I have ordered the plugs, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter and will be cleaning up both the engine and longtail this weekend. What do you recommend for greasing the shaft? Do I just hook up my grease gun to the only zerk fitting on the longtail and go to town? Please advise me as I am lost. I tried to find literature on the beavertail website but did not see much. The longtail will be pushing a Polar Kraft 1442. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have the same problem on my 20 hp beaver tail don't know Wat rpms should be running.

on my gtr i set my idle in the water in gear that way you dont set it to low that it will kill when you hit the water....as far as rpms on that 20hp i would call a local dealer and ask them http://cdn.powerequipment.honda.com/eng ... ZJ1611.pdf

I typically turn my GX620 around 4000. Don't be scared to spin that thing, it's not a Briggs

in the water i run 4080 something but my idles a little more than 2000 i think

Should be idling around 1000-1100, out of water mine idles about 1400-1500,

When the governor is surging this means the mixing screw isn't set right correct?
