 Backwater 35hp swomp
Just picked up a 1648 tracker grizzly an ordered a 35hp backwater SWOMP motor just wondering if anyone is running the same combo and what kinda speeds they are getting out of it an how they like it? I kno it's not the ideal hull for that motor but I'm going to put some Gator glide on the bottom to see if it helps out at all., Also would I benefit by adding pods to the back?

 Re: Backwater 35hp swomp
I've had the 1648 grizzly since 2004 with a 27 HP LT. Does just fine. I put steelflex on the bottom; great stuff like the gator glide, reduces friction when running in the mud/veggies, also makes trailering/unloading easier. Generally I've read that pods not so good on hulls longer than 15'. You should realize mid-20's with that combo. Eventually I want to go up to a 1848 custom lightweight hull with a 35. Let us know how it goes. BackH2O is the ticket!

With a 185lb guy driving, my boat will hold 26.

 Re: Backwater 35hp swomp
I ran a 35 Swomp LS on a 1752 Lowe last season. Not the ideal boat. It would run an average of 18 with a hunt load. Finally got a mud hull 1848. Still in the middle of paint, HT and wiring. I should have a review up next week.

I have a 35hp long tail on a 1648 go devil boat with slick coating on bottom. I get 26mph by gps.

Wait. In the original post you said you had ordered a 35 SWOMP.

 Re: Backwater 35hp swomp
I had a invoice made up from Jake, for the loan department. Boat took longer to get a invoice for because they sold me a boat that was already sold. So in the mean time while I was waiting I was second guessing getting the LT. Not because it's a bad motor but I talked to some guys in my area that hunt the delta and they said I'd be better off with a SD for the conditions out there. Ended up finding a prodrive dealer about a hour from my house and got one order from him.
