RPMs out of the water doesnt matter all that much... as long as it will wrap up to where it is greater than 3600 you are good... what does matter is RPMs in the water... if the engine wont wrap up with the prop in the water to 3600 or so you arent getting the full potential out of your engine... |

Got it up to 4000 rpms with just me in the boat I'm runing a 8x4 is that to high |

Nope you should be good, what kinda speeds are you getting? With a 14' boat I would guess you are somewhere around 15-18 mph alone...loaded down you might see a drop down to 10-13 mph... |

It's doing 15mph on GPS it's a 14 foot Jon boat |
