I am interested too. I talked to a respectable source and they told me that moding a longtail 35 would make it tough to hang on to. I would like for mine to run loaded like it does empty some what. Not trying to break any speed records! |

Exhaust is common, Heads on the 35 briggs are always helpful, via leaking valves etc. I have seen where guys put a minkuni on aswell, helps with idle and some speed. As for the rest I'm not sure, the 35 swomp I drove wasnt bad to handle, now you are allot of power. ... might be a handle full, but you can always throttle down, and Throttle up when you need the extra power. But I haven't owned a Longtail tail in years, so I'd research some more before you dive into it |

With no gear reduction, the 35 LT, if modded, will probably not gain too much. The money on that kind of enterprise IMO would be better spent on a stock 35 surface drive which will be 5-6 mph faster top end from the get go. From what I read, most 35 LT owners get low 20's with a hunting load and I would be content with that. |

If you turn more rpms you will gain speed, now how much speed that is on an lt I'm not sure. The extra power wouldn't hurt when carrying a load though |

had a 35 SS on a 1846 boat I built stock was about 22 mph added single carb about 25 to 26 mph then I pulled heads shave 40 thousandths add stainless valves from pvt and pvt cam with 9x9 hill prop it would run 29 all day bumping 30 empty. I lost a lot of bottom end with pvt cam so I went back with stock cam so I would have some grunt. if I bought another Backwater 35 I would definitely add single carb again and probably have heads done. hope this helps |

Saw a mud buddy SLT with the Black Death engine mods. Never saw it run but I imagine it would be a bad little motor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
