So, I built a 13hp Longtail couple years back. Dumped some decent money into the Honda clone motor, took it out yesterday and I blew out the upper shaft seal again. I'm wanting to get a backwater glider kit. Would I gain something by getting a full frame kit? Instead of the glider? I have the motor on a 12ft vhull. I know not the right hull. I plan on getting on a 1436 jon boat at least, maybe a 1636? Any better options? I run open river to some shallow channels. Not much mud. |

I'm going to try to keep this updated. I called Backwater today and talked with Arlon. They do offer a full frame kit. It will handle 13hp-23hp engine. Prop would be the only change. My plan is to upgrade to a 16ft boat. After talking with Arlon, I'm going to look for something with at least a 42" bottom for stability. Going to pull the trigger on the frame kit after the new year. |

Go devil hulls are very hard to come by here in southern idaho. I'd rather not fork out a bunch for shipping...... |
