I feel that. That's where I hunt. Been a bad season here. Very few birds to be found. Pretty much done for the year. I'm down to go whenever anyone else is available. |

That's good for me. I'd like it to be a longtail ride. The lake is low right now and fun to play in. |

31st is good with me! If someone hasn't bought my boat by then I'll be there ![]() Looking like a longtail-only event so far hahaha. I hunted that lake pretty much all year. I'd say it was average, maybe even above average this year. I had consistent numbers pretty much all season. Just had to hunt them hard and often. I've stuck to the woods since the first of Jan and done pretty good. |

You will both be faster than me I'm sure. My little 20hp gets there but you have to be patient lol. If we get a few more guys Id be down with running up the river and grilling something for lunch ![]() |

BA Stienhagen Reservoir just west of Jasper, TX on US 190... Commonly referred to as Dam B. its a pretty unique place in that the Angelina River which is the runoff from Lake Sam Rayburn and the Neches River come together just north of this little lake before the waters continue south toward the Gulf of Mexico. There are State parks with camping of all types in several places around it. Pretty nice place for a lot of things. I fish those waters more than I hunt them really. Some of the best spring time bass fishing in the area in my opinion. |

I grew up fishing this lake. Caught a lot of good fish there. I like magnolia ridge park. It's a corps of engineers park on the west side of the lake. On highway 92 |

An hour and a half, 1:45 at the most. Easiest way from LC would be to come straight into Beaumont on I-10, take the 69/96/287 Lufkin Exit and head north, go right at the 69/96 split in Lumberton and go straight, exit Business 96 in Silsbee, stay straight thru town, stay on FM92 (business 96 turns into FM92 leaving Silsbee) to thru Fred, Spurger and take a right on US190 at the caution light, you're there... One other way would be to go up to Merryville, take US190 into Texas, go thru Newton, Jasper and you'll hit Dam B about 10-15min after you get out of Jasper. Not sure how far Merryville would be from you though. I'm assuming you'd take LA27 north to Singer, hit LA110 up to Merryville to 190... |

Google maps has you taking I-10 into Tx, exiting on TX62, go north all the way to Buna. Then going north on US96 through Kirbyville, then hitting US190 in Jasper, shows about 105mi... Under 2hrs, it's 90% Hwy and basically all 75mph once you're in Tx |

We can go to which ever park you guys want. There are two state parks on the east side of the lake. Walnut ridge north of the bridge. Hen house ridge south of the bridge. Each park has one boat ramp. Magnolia ridge on the west side is corps park. Has 3 boat ramps. |

Yep, lots of places to put in... I use Bevilport a lot fishing. There's also Sandy Creek on the East side of the lake below Hen House Ridge. Doesn't matter to me. I use Walnut ridge a lot scouting or riding because it's pretty central to the lake and easy access into the river or across into the log jam etc... |

I can meet wherever. I like walnut ridge for the reasons I stated before. It's good access to pretty much everywhere. It's pretty central. The purple pin is Walnut Ridge boat ramp. |

Post subject: | Re: Wanna ride? |
That's cool with me. I'm out of sausage but I'll bring some stuff. Do we want to run up to one of the Corps Campsites and cook or use one of the day use areas at the park? Tie up and cook on the water? I don't mind bringing some links and stuff, I'll have a 55qt cooler with me so I'll have room. Who wants to volunteer for buns and maybe some chips or something?? No need to make it complicated for just a few of us... What kind of head count are we looking at? Should we post this elsewhere to see if anyone else wants to come out? |
