 Rear Wake
Need advice. Currently running 35 Swomp on 1748. Boat seems to always plow ecspecially with load. Debating on cutting off pods. Nose stays down too much. Also, is the wake robing my performance? See pics. Thanks in advance.

 Re: Rear Wake
Which mount do you have for the boat. The original could only go one way. The new mount can be mounted in the boat or out of the boat. From the picture it looks like yours would benefit from being a few inches more forward to get the prop out of the turbulent water.

 Re: Rear Wake
If the pods don't throw the water correctly, that's exactly the result. Not saying cut them off, or to move the motor, but that could def be the cause of your issues. Pods on principal aren't bad for long tails or SDs (though a lot of people will argue) but if they throw water to the prop wrong, the end reult is the reduced performance you're seeing.

 Rear Wake
That first pic looks like it's tracking right as far as the cav plate but from backh20s instructional video it says the prop should be running in front of the turbulent water. I'm not an expert but I've been doin a bunch of research bc a friend of mine has a swomp and is being reluctant to let me play around with the adjustable bracket on his. I would definitely mess around with all the adjustments before I went cutting the pods off bc you might be better off with them than without.

 Re: Rear Wake
I had the same problem with my 24 hp on a 1448. When I was by myself it was putting the "V" part of the wake (where they merge) right under the cav plate. I tried shimming it under the water to help but it made it hard as heck to steer. For me moving weight forward fixed the problem, but Jake at BackH20 said if that didn't work I needed to move the mounting bracket to the inside vs. outside of the transom and it would move the plate/prop 5" forward.
I would take everyone's advise so far, you will be amazed house much of a difference get things squared up will make on the swomp.
