How do yall think a 23 SWOMP would run on a 1542 Alweld. I have a quote for a 1738 Gatortrax rogue with a 35 SWOMP but just curious if I even need a brand new boat. Thanks!!

You will sit fairly low in the stern with the 38 bottom and 35 hanging off it. I have a 1638 with huntdeck with a 24 longtail on it. Boat is great for running the marsh and narrow ditches but if I was going with the 35 which is like an extra 50lbs I would probably be looking at the 44 bottom. If you really want the 38 bottom I would look at moving up to at least an 18' length and make sure I had the tall sides. |

I run a GX690 Honda on my backwater, sitting on a 1548 weldbilt and love it. it may not be the thickest "bulldozer" hull, but it gets me where I wanna go and I don't have 20K tied up. I recommend anything from backwater. |

With a 2 man hunting load at the end of the season I was at 16. Earlier in the year with a fresh prop 17 to 18 deep water. It's a great small water rig. I have had 3 with a full hunting load and still get on plane without a problem but that's really pushing it for space. |
