 6:1 Gear reduction I have a 5.5hp with a 6:1 gear reduction laying around.
any body think this has any use for a longtail ?

Re: 6:1 Gear reduction No. Think of the gear reduction like your transmission in your truck. In DRIVE you are turning fast rpms(mph) with low torque, in LOW you have torque but no rams(mph). A 6:1 gear reduction will take your motor running at 4200 rpms with an output of 700 rpms. 42/6=7 Understand? You can turn a bigger prop because of the torque but won't have the speed.
