This is gonna be a long post so bear with me.
18x44 Godevil hull with 25 kohler GDLT
The engine had a 9x5 prop when I got it.
It would run 16 mph deep water and bump 17 shallow with me (195) my dogs (125 combined)
Sent the prop back to be repitched to 9x6
While the prop was gone I moved my gas tank all the way forward underneath the front deck.
Took the boat out yesterday with just me the battery and about 4 gallons of fuel.
Fighting a strong current I was able to keep it at 16 mph and bump 17.
Down current I was running a consistent 20 and bumping 21.
However I noticed the nose of the boat rides a little high and the ass end sits a little low. The spray actually comes up over the gunnels. Not into the boat but just higher than the sides.
So then I get my buddy in the boat with me I'd say he's 170-180 lbs and the speeds are the same. IF he sits at the bow bc the boat was planing out better
When I would have him move to the bench seat we would lose 1 mph and the nose would pick back up. I can't get my tiny tach set right but there was a noticeable pickup in rpm by ear when he would go up front.
Bottom of the boat has zero hooks btw.
Here are my questions.
There is no foam under the floor or in the nose of the boat. All was removed by previous owner SO:
A.) should I cut into the rear float pods to see if they're water logged?
B.) if so I'd like to turn them into storage.
Anybody done this?
and if they aren't waterlogged then what should I do next? I'm thinking about moving the battery up front too.

I ran a 14' and put EVERYTHING up front to keep my nose down.... Gas tank, two batteries, etc.

It was pretty much the only way to pull it off.

I run a 18x44 GD, I have battery up front, anchor (20) up front, gas tank up front.... I still ride stern heavy..... I have slick sides, no crimp......I run a solid 15 (29 hp with 9x6, 3640-3690rpm). I still have all the foam in my boat, I've come to the conclusion, it's going to ride stern heavy

Might be a dumb question but does water logged foam still make your boat float? I would guess no or not near as well.
