 Improvements Longtail Plans?
Was wondering if anyone knew of or could suggest improvements to longtail build plans? I'm sure some of you have seen parts and design that could be improved. Thanks

 Re: Improvements Longtail Plans?
WHat plans do you have that you would like improved?
When I built mine I just looked at several models and picked the features I liked.
I also didnt have "plans" Just some ideas, some building blocks (motor and prop), and I got creative.

Like he said they're pretty simple, the one thing I would recommend is to use a bearing in a cage at the top of the shaft housing, this puts your only friction point that needs tp be greased below the surface of the water and if you get in a pinch you dont gotta worry about the housing having enough grease in it to cool a top bushing...

Here is an example of what SwampDonkey is talking about, I think.

Yep that's the basic idea, We use a bearing with a locking collar like pictured above however the bearing is bolted to the frame using a two retainer plates like pictured below...
