New member and first time posting! About to mount my 23hp go-devil long tail on a 18' 6" all 3/16 aluminum skiff x 40" wide. 9x6 prop on its foot. Curious to see what you guys think I can expect to see. It's. A borrow boat from a friend till I decide which way I want to go in the future with. Tks for any replies!!

I wouldn't expect too much. That's a big boat for the 23. You should do pretty good by yourself, but don't try to load that thing down unless you want to idle every where. lol

I would say 16-19 mph solo, and a little less with another person and gear.

I have the same rig. I get 19/20 mph with the new prop. With a load on the boat it would plane out but is a slow ride. Plows water like crazy when loaded too. You should do alright with it

99% of the time I will be alone. Biggest load is my personal gear and ice chest to get out to the camp and longest run. Hunting around the camp is short runs with maybe another person to make a hunt. Tks for the replies.

Let us know how you do with that hull! I bet a 35 LT would be just fine.
