Post Swomp Lite Glider 13hp
Hey fellas new guy here and first mud motor.Have had a lot of experience with shallow water boating tunnel hulls, jets ,jack plates and such just not mud motors. After doing my homework I decided the swamp lite glider was what I wanted. needed a super light rig to run shallow small rocky sandy rivers didn't really need the mud and veggie capabilities but it has opened a whole new world for me. Here are some specs.

boat: 1436LT 110lbs after benches cut out and 5 braces added

motor: swamp lite glider 420 predator stock 8x5 prop 127lbs

speed: 16 to 17mph deep water no wind or current shallow water no wind or current have seen 19mph that's with me 205lbs, boat/motor 237lbs ,tool kit 12lbs, 15lbs of camera gear, yeti with case of diesels and ice 56lbs , K2 cooler 12 pack water snacks and ice 30lbs, 5gal gas 40lbs small gear bag 8lbs so a total of 603lbs +/-. Same performance with my 42lb daughter.

So far very impressed with with the set up and my dealings with Backwater inc. Only gripes I have are tiller handle needs to be taller for me and the throttle set up kinda sucks. Also needs a shallower pin setting for shallow water idling. Just got to fab up some kind of plastic runners on the ribs and Kevlar epoxy coating for dragging over rocks the boat will spend most of its time on a class 2 to 3 river.Maybe some motor mods (suggestions?) Also have a 9x5 prop I haven't ran yet. Here's a lil video enjoy.

First off... If I let you use my boat, can you make a bad ass video like that for me??? Haha. Super cool man.

But honestly that rig is scootin'. I love my little SWOMP LITE. Very lightweight but also very capable of getting my little boat into some tight spots. You need to rig up a grab bar so you can really cut loose. Also as far as wanting another pin setting, pull the pivot bolt, spin the swivel mount 180 degrees, then put your pivot bolt back in. See if one of those pin settings is better for you.

That's a sweet little rig. Nice work on the video too. What editing software are you using?

Thanks guys! Pak, wouldn't change a thing at the moment. This is my first mud motor set up so I'm still learning.Got the ribs from alumnacraft I think they were $68 for all I just had to weld the ends. They ship um flat.

Frank, the pin holes on the other side are the exact same. I just want the prop higher at idle but, I thing I'm going to make a bracket to bolt to the swivel. Yeah I have grab bars on my other boats but, like the open floor and being able to go under stuff. Might have to fab up a (sissy stick) that's removable or folds down.

Honkey, I just started to make videos this past fall but, have used gopro studio, adobe premier, and now learning the newest final cut prom which is like going to school all over again.

thanks again should have a new video soon.

Great video man, and sweet little rig ya got. Get yourself a grab bar pronto. I have run that size boat for a long, long time. and it's only a matter of time before you hit something and the grab bar is the ONLY thing keeping you in the boat.
