Post subject:  Motor won't crank

Hey guys I bought my first mud motor yesterday . When I picked it up the guy started it right up but when I got it home an all hooked up I can't get it to crank all it does is spin over any ideas what it could be? Thanks

Check kill switch, fuse on motor, ...

Kill switch is always my first check!

What brand ? , you often have to start with prop elevated out of water. Which means you have to lower your tiller handle past level before it will start . That and dbl check kill switch. .

Yeah, if it's trimmed up too far, my mud buddy won't crank. Some sort of trim position sensor somewhere. Don't know if my gtr will have that issue yet, as I'm still assembling it.

I think they were on some earlier mb surface drives too. I just don't know or care where to look on mine. Just know after I got a new starter solenoid it wouldn't crank, but the solenoid checked out. Finally figured out that was why.

thanks for they help it was the kill switch he had a different one rigged up on it i aint know about. thanks for all the help.
