Post Best Prop
Just wondering what props people think are good. I need to replace mine on my 23 GDLT Vanguard and am looking for some opinions.

Thanks

Stock prop, prob. 11x10 I think. Big blade maybe, but I don't think the 23 is geared right unless you do mods.

Fuk. Sorry. 9x6. A 9x7 would work, but probably be too much pitch. A 9x5 would work too. Just call go devil and get one ordered.

9x6 call backwater , save some money , just as good or better, I know they are balanced before going out the door.
A little bit thicker all the way to the edge as well.

Looking for opinions on what people think is the best brand to go with.
Is anyone familiar with the bblades props ad that hub system?

GoDevil makes good, stout props, and on my three different motors (18, two 25's) I actually gained 1-2 mph with some wear. Each hull/load/condition is different, for example, my 27 HP is rated for a 9x7 and yet I actually run better with a 9x6. I asked about the bblades on here a couple of seasons ago and there were several very positive reviews! I am actually running a Ron Hill 9x6 that is several seasons old and has very little wear and has been real solid and was considerably less than the other mfg.'s Others are critical of Hill props, maybe I was lucky? MudBuddy Tiger props are good, though I cracked one on coral rock but that will shear anything. It would be great if someone in your area had a spare prop you could try out. I do suggest always having a spare prop handy! I have stated here before, it is a good practice to remove the prop a couple of times a year, clean the threads, apply anti-seize grease, and if necessary replace your washers and locknuts. As was posted, most mfg.'s suggest the 9x6 for the 23 HP motor, and Russ is right a 9x5 may even work the same or better. Check out GoDevil's website and their prop warranty policy and their re-cupping service if this applies to your prop. Hope that helps!

Having used mb and gd props on a 24, I don't think you can go wrong with either. I also think huck's advice concerning backwater is sound. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I've seen those backwater props and compared to my old mudbuddy props, there's a lot more meat there.
