Hello my fellow marine mudders! Got a few ?'s for ya. I recently scored a screaming deal on a 1989 15 hp go-devil thats been stored for the last 19 years for $500!!!!!! Any how ive got it on a 14x44 flat bottom jon baot it sems to run great! Apx. 15 mph or so. My qustion is it has a 3 (8 inch of unknown pitch) blade stainless prop & I think it could do a little better in weeds & sloppy mud than it does now. I havnt ever got stuck but you cannot surface drive it at all soon as that cav plate is above water it looses all thrust until is just bearly under water. So I ordered a go devil 9x3 2 blade hopefully that will help with the nasty stuff with out murdering top speed. Anythoughts or experience on this fellas? It had 24hrs. On it before it was stored even got all paper work & original receipt when bought new in 7-89!

The 2 blade should push better when only partially submerged, I don't know how it'll compare to the 3 blade for speed when all the way in the water. The lower bushing and seal on there is probably the old style, you can contact Go Devil about upgrading. You might also want to look into the "automatic greaser" that Go Devil now puts on their shafts. The cool thing about Go Devil is that anything new they come out with can be retrofitted onto anything they sold since the beginning. Give them a call and talk with them about. You might even get to speak with Warren Coco himself, he's very easy to speak with if you speak Southern!

Here she is. & im trying to post pics of er. I did contact go-devil very cool peoplebto work with! It is the old style packing gland seal. The bushings are still tight just didnt know about the props the 9x3 from go devil just showed up today!! WOW its totally diffrent!

Thats what ive been discovering on it beeing a rare odd ball prop. Here is somenpics of my "salad shooter" as I named her! Haha this thing is a blast to run! Ill never paddle again running my set lines in the river! I dont know the pitch of the 3 blade but its 8 inch total dia.

My first GD LT was an 18 HP Briggs, slapped it on a riveted 1436 jon and had a lot of fun. I tried that same 3 bladed prop- it was 2 mph faster in open water but got bogged down as soon as I hit the grass...GoDevil admitted it was for clean water application and stopped making them and settled on the 2 blade cupped design they still sell today. Cool thing is you can upgrade your seals/ bearings/ swivel plate/ prop through GoDevil! If the motor is that old I would suggest rebuilding the carb, not that hard to do, and getting new fuel lines, spark plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, etc.

Oh I already have gone through the carb & the whole fuel system re lashed valves the whole 9 yards man. It runs like a top! Dont even use the ele starter pops rite off hot or cold with one pull! Im a mechanic by trade so working on the motor is nothing. Uses no oil & just plane runs great. Just wondern about the diffrece in the prop style. It goes good now I guess this weekend ill just see how she does!

Well fellas got a chance to try out the new 9x3 2 blade go devil prop yerteday. Open water its hard to tell if I lost any speed. If I did it sure wasn't much. But I can run it with the cavation plate just above water now!!! It really made a diffreance in the mud! It will move that stuff rite now! Throws it alot more hands down throws the water alot better to! Now its time to hop-up the 15 a little now! "Stock is a good place to start" hahaha!
