Got my new boat! It is a 17.5x52 Gator Trax super sport with hunt deck. Running a 35 ss swamp it runs at 20 21 mph loaded with two hunters, one dog, and four dozen decoys, ice chest and hunting gear. In open water. I am extremely happy with my setup. |

Damn good speed on that heavy hull with that load. Looks like a hunt deck can be LT friendly. |

For the longest time, on the gatortax website, you can't see anything when you click on "super sport" on their boat models. The Rogue model for instance, can be made up to a 1838. I don't want anything that narrow. I prefer an 1844/1848 ideally with a 35 LT. Good to know GT can make the super sport- which was advertised as their lightest hull- in that configuration. Overall, their prices are not cheap, but for .125 hulls they are comparable to all the other mfg.'s I really have not read anything negative about them. I would like to know all about driving an LT with a hunt deck- I need to be persuaded- because that additional space, flotation, step in/out/dog platform, backwash deterrent, sure seems like a must! |

So, no pics? The previous threads asked about hunt decks so any pictures will be great. If I go custom in the future, I am still trying to decide between pods on a hunt deck on an 18' hull. There are arguments for both. |

Takum- Did you put the mount on the inside or outside of the transom plate? I put mine on the inside as suggested by Jake at BackH2o. It worked out awesome, goes really well in the shallows. All- I have cell phone pictures of my mount setup if anyone would like to see them. I can't get them to upload. I got quite the education reading/researching stuff here on MMT, I would like to pay it forward and help out the next guy. Chance |

How has your backwater held up? I bought one brand new and put it on a brand new godevil 1838. My 35ss looks like garbage now. After 5 months of use, the skeg plate is cracked half way down, had to drill holes to stop it. The cavitation plate cracked in half, had to tig weld it up. Both bearings on the shaft leak by, running it slings grease and water out of the bearings, both top and bottom. 5 months of use and jake and Arlon will not respond to my calls, texts and pictures I have sent them. Is this normal wear? I don't think so. I think it's inadequate grade of metal and other parts they've used to build this frame. If I could go back, I would have put down the extra cash and bought the go devil 35. So how's yours doing? |

Had mine for two years and I'm not easy on it. Only damage was a slightly bent skeg which I bent back. I have never called Backwater and not had them answer, even on the weekend. Sorry your having a hard time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

Add some pictures! I talked to Kent at G.T. And he told me I couldn't run a LT on the hunt deck because you can't swing handle around if you need to get the prop out of the water. |
