Post subject:  Fuel Injection Question

I have a 2006 vanguard 31hp (with carbs) GD Longtail. Runs perfect, but takes a little work to get it to start. I have adjusted the valves and this helps.

I am not worried about hopping up the motor or anything like that. I was considering changing this motor out with a vanguard EFI Engine. Are these easier to start than carbed engines?

Is the vanguard 31hp, 35 hp and 37 hp the same engine block?

Thanks.

If I do this, what can I get for my carbed 31hp vanguard, with good compression. Hours 100

Yes, but it's a different crank and rod length. I don't think the pistons are any different though.

My starting problems is attributed to owner not motor. Battery is fully charged but due to corrosion on the lead, it would not spin the motor fast enough to start. Leads cleaning, boat starts perfect. No more issues.
