I bought the kit, the predator engine and the aftermarket mud kit from OMB warehouse for a total of $550. the motor performs great. I have it on a 1242 john and am 100% pleased with it meeting my expectations. Has great torque, and ran about 17mph with my brother (240lbs) myself (240lbs and gear. Id highly recommend if you have time to slap it together. |

Did you go with the Hemi or non-hemi and why? |

I actually got both. I initially purchased a hemi and out of the box there was a problem with the spark. It would spark 1x when I pulled the cord and stop until I turned the shut-off switch to OFF and then back ON. then it would only spark 1x. I took it back and got the Non-Hemi. works great and there are more kits for the non-hemi version. OMBwarehouse.com has a non-hemi mud kit. its nice because the exhaust blows straight back, rather than to the side like most of the exhausts do. it makes it easier on the ears when motoring. |

Thanks for the info. Do you think there is any advantage to the hemi? Is it more hp or rpm? |

the motor is a stock 6.5 and has a governor, so stock, there isn't going to be a difference. Id imagine with $300 in upgrades and governor removed it would make a difference, but not without. |

Yeah not until u go all out with marine cam, thinner head gasket, 18# springs, bigger jet, billet flywheel and rod, robertson's torque tube, and polished head (all from NRracing) do you really see any other gains. Then you could've just bought a bigger motor buy then, but weight was an issue with my 1236 jon. Ohh...and the Hemi's Got a Flat-top Piston! If you ever blow that non-hemi go back to the hemi for sure! |
