Post 37 swomp mounting with vasa mount
Ok guys here is that I'm working with. 1754 tracker grizzly mod V with beavertail pods. I have the vasa mount inside the transom (20inch tall) motor is the backwater 37EFI 72". I can get 22mph with only myself, 2 dogs and just the boat. 20mph boat, hard cover blind, myself and dogs. NOW! I added one 250 guy and an extra 100lbs in gear I'm topping out at 15mph more like 12-13mph. The boat is plowing with weight in the back. So my question is if I flap the mounting plate to the outside of the transom and move the motor back the extra 6"-8" would it make a difference and help my boat plane out better and not plow?

Jake would be the one to consult on the Versa Mount. I have zero experience with it. I will tell you that the first thing I would mess with is the position of the weight inside the boat. Look at shifting your passengers, battery, fuel tank, etc to get the desired effect. Then if you're still not where you want to be, see if Jake or Arlon can offer any insight. Best of luck!

I've got an OLD 1860 Alumacraft welded boat that's a barge. I have a 35 swomp with the motor mounted on the versamount aft of the transom. I've found with heavy loads (like 4 peeps, a dog, 10 doz decoys, etc) I need to move the majority of the weight from the 4 guys towards the rear. Like myself the operator and 2 guys aft of center and the other guy back from the bow a bit. I mean with 4 guys I can't plane but the boat runs better with the load aft of center for sure. If you are plowing your bow must be too low. Your pods might be keeping your bow from coming up enough to get on plane, especially with your motor mounted forward of the transom . For what it's worth my friend.
