I have read that Cavitation plates on longtails work and DONT work. have had guys tell me that they really are just extra BS on the shaft. whats the real deal with them? if there is a benefit id like to know what it does and how it works. |

They work. That's what holds the prop in the water. Whoever told you that is a jackass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Try driving any longtail with any power without one and get back to us . You'll be Popeyed armed. H Finn |

It's totally necessary. Especially if you have a bigger motor. Like trying to wrestle a steer without it It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

My cav plate "tore" off and I drove my 25hp Mudbuddy like this for the final 2 hunts of the season a few years ago. If it wasn't for being able to rest the handle on the rear bench seat it'd been impossible to run full throttle. |

I had the torn cav plate bro welded back on and hope to never run another longtail without one. |

Had any of you fellas had any experience with backwaters 'surface tracer' cav plate? I've been thinking of giving it a go on my ol' go devil. The stock go devil does good just wondering if the backwater plate would do better. |

I made mine. And it works really well. You wanna go full custom I can send you a drawing with measurements. But it's pretty damn close to the go devil design with a "spoiler" and wings that bend down around the prop. It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |
