Post The making of my hunting rig, pic heavy
I have kinda been wanting to make a start to finish thread of my new boat so here goes
It all started with a trip to backwoods landing to get a 16-48 flat laid out exactly how I wanted. I rode up there with my utility trailer to pick it up.

Post Re: The making of my hunting rig, pic heavy
Now I needed a boat trailer and I wasn't paying for a new one. After a little looking, a buddy of mine from another forum said he had a ski boat trailer I could have so I went and got it.

It was really heavy and I wanted a lighter trailer to cut down on gas usage so I took that huge axle assembly and carriage off and cut the tubing in half to make channel and welded a new frame out of that.

I took the axle out of a junk utility trailer I had laying around and cut 5 inches out of it and mounted it and ordered new fenders and bunk brackets and got tires/wheels, winch, chains, and a tongue from harbor freight and used the jack that was on the old boat trailer and put it all together.

After a little paint and wiring and some bunks she was good to go.

Well it was gonna be a while till I could afford the motor I wanted so I elected to light the boat up. And do a little rigging.
Got a 24 inch light bar and led strip nav. lights and went to town

I've been saving and finally sold my golf cart so I could finally afford my motor. I called up jake at backwater and ordered a 35 ss. And waited patiently for it to get here.

I tested the motor and it's working great. After a little tweaking I have made it hit 25 mph and I still have a little weight distribution battle to conquer. I'm hoping I don't need pods but as of right now the back end is still sitting a little lower than I would like for full performance in the junk.
Anyway I figured I could cover the blind. Got a camo tarp from Walmart.

I also ordered 3 bundles of Rogers sporting goods grass mats which are the cheapest you will find and really nice quality.

This photo shows one side of the top let down for shooting

It also folds down nicely and gets out of the way

I didn't have the rig ready for teal or early goose but I was lucky enough to put a little blood in it during bow season though. I am very happy with it and looking forward to big duck season in a couple weeks.

I am digging the way you laid that blind out. I was getting ready to redo mine and I think I am going to copy you after this season!!

What size tubing did you use and how is t standing up to the weight?
