Guys I have a few questions for you. My predator mud buddy swap turned out great. I am now however running into issues where my motor cuts right off after about 30 to 45 Seconds of running on plane. I am not sure if this is a fuel related issue or possibly a low oil shut off issue even though the oil is within spec. I have a video on my phone that shows it happening but it won't load on the page. If anyone can help me it would be great. This is a huge pain being though I can barley go above idol without it cutting off. Thanks again guys! |

Keep your primer bubble near you and when it goes to shut off, pump it. If it keeps goin, then your losing fuel. Move tank to front of boat too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It cuts off quicker than I can grab the ball, that's why I'm not sure that it is fuel. It doesn't spit or sputter just cuts right out |

Did you try disconnecting the low oil sensor? 1744 Phowler Prowler, 23 Dixie |

Move your pressure ball to middle of boat by where you normally run. . Mine will run out like that on long long runs. , I just tap it a few times with my foot and keep right on . My tank is in the front. . H Finn |

I put an electric fuel pump on mine because it would run out of gas quick at wot. Mr. Gasket 42s from advance auto. No mas problems. It was $45. |

Chances are high its running out of fuel. I second the idea to keep your primer bulb near by. I've spoke to several others that have had this issue, before I even set my motor up. I added a $15 dollar 12v pump (off Amazon) before the first time I even ran it. |

Make sure your hose clamps are tight and you're not using a quick connect. Air in the fuel line is also a common problem for this It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

Thanks guys but I have already tried these things, I pulled the cover plate on the engine and where the fuel suction line bends down there seems to be a slight kink in the hose near the hose guide, could it be getting warm and collapsing when the motor gets hot and starving it from fuel? That would explain why it runs for short times with the excess fuel that made its way in, then once it's gone it shuts down, just seems strange for it to cut out at the snap of a finger. |

Is your tank vented? Unscrew the cap if it doesn't have a vent. Fuel related issues usually sputter before cutting off. To rule out the oil sensor crank it up on the trailer. Move the tail up and down slowly while running to see when the oil sensor cuts it off. If it cuts off in the WOT position (tail position, not throttle position) then its your oil sensor, you wont have to run it at full throttle while testing this. I cant view the video, try posting it to YouTube then linking to here. |

Just for reference. I use 2 full quarts in my motor and the sensor doesn't kill it. I think over filling it a lil bit is what most people do It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

I rerouted the fuel line and it ran like a top, just not sure why these motors come like that, it was an obvious hard kink in my opinion. Anyway, now I want a new prop, what does everyone suggest? 9x6 or 9x5 for the 22hp predator? Thanks for all of the help guys! |

I run the 9x5 on my 1648 and it does 15 with a full load or without a load. So I'm betting the 9x6 would work better in my situation. Just food for thought It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |
