 Transom angle ?
Just a quick question. Does transom height or angle matter on a boat for a long tail ? Was jw since me and a buddy were discussing it .

 Re: Transom angle ?
Yes it does but it's not nearly as critical as transom height/shaft length. The angle of the shaft into the water will determine the efficiency of forward thrust.

 Re: Transom angle ?
Shaft angle is the number one problem why guys are fighting their long tail to steer it. Look at it this way, the more vertical a cavitation plate is, the more downward thrust it will push the prop into the water. They are designed to ride close to the surface to allow maximum motor rpm and forward thrust. The deeper it dives the more you will have to push down on the handle to get the cavitation plate to the surface.
