While I don't disagree with you in any way... Be careful waving their flag too high. The Gator Tail crew will come and try to run theirs up the same mast

I had to post it and will bump it every month because I see soooo many questions about what prop, what LT shoukd I get, blaw blaw blaw...
This is an end all be all LT manufacturer. I challenge all other LT companies to match what they got

x2. Never really heard much about them. I could see where neutral would be really handy when checking lines.

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
Stu, that SLT was an Area 51 project! Only bits and pieces of info and videos have been released. I would also like more reports. The gear reduction to me is more important than the neutral- though that is dang handy- and then you would realize more oomphf with any mods you might make because of the bigger prop you could use- although a bigger prop does mean it requires more water- in skinny situations that might be a negative for sure vs. the regular LT w/smaller prop- but in all other situations I think would be overly positive. Hope 4Rivers can chime in!

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
The SLT seems like a area 51 project because it came out just before MB announced the V and H short shaft. I have had mine 2 seasons now it is a 35cdi on a Gator Trax 17/54 GE. I cant say enough yes neutral is handy but the gear reduction you get with the belt drive gives you almost short shaft speeds. 26 mph just me and lab 22-24 with hunting loads. I have a 9" prop some people have 12" big blade on this motor {with diff gearing } I like the 9"

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
4rivers, you postitive reports are what keeps me hoping I can get an SLT sometime in the future. As much as BackH20 would be my choice as well, the ability to obtain that push and speed on an LT format, including neutral, easier removal with the hex hub prop, all would right now point me to the "mythical" SLT. I hope MB does not drop the ball on this one.

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
4 rivers, great speeds for that size boat. Had my Swomp on a 1752 Lowe this past duck season. I could get 17mph out of with my two boys and all the hunt stuff. Not the ideal hull for a MM so I'm looking for a Mud Hull. I'm sure I would see speeds in the 20's with the right boat. Really happy with the motor and the folks at Back H20. Thanks for the info.

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
Met Jake from Backwaters today - very solid and personable guy sure knows his longtails that is for sure. He talked duck hunting and bowfishing with my son and he was delivering a 35 Swomp. I mentioned Frank from TN and he knew exactly who he was and said hello. You guys are spot on about the Backwaters folks awesome motors from a great company.

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
I just got out last weekend for the first ride since late November and I'm approaching the 20 hour mark on my Swomp 23. I forgot what grease Jake told me to get so I called him this week. I got the answer, as I expected I would, but was once again impressed with the personable approach he takes with customer service. Feels good to be treated that well when you have what seems like a stupid question. You aren't just a number to these guys, they remember you, they are friendly as all get out and they honestly care that you stay satisfied with your decision to run one of their motors. Hell, he coulda laughed, told me the grease to get and hung up, instead we ended up bullshitting for about a half hour. Not only has my motor performed up to my expectations, I love the fact that I can call the guy that built it and get top notch treatment even when I have a dumb question. I'm looking forward to meeting up with him in a month or two to chase some flatheads and knock back some beers. In the meantime I'll keep on being another happy customer.

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
It has to do with the company Back Water Performance Systems being banned or burning a bridge or something. So you have to separate "Back" and "Water" into 2 separate words instead of typing it as one word.

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
Both my buddy and myself bought props from these guys last summer. My buddy is running a 27 mud buddy and Im running a 23 go devil. Both of our boats are a couple mph faster, loaded and unloaded then with the factory props. Also very good customer service. My friend still hasnt heard back from mud buddy lol.

What's the reasoning for them having a 59" shaft or 71"? Just wondering

That's better than I expected! Do you believe the Honda 690 would be the same even though its approx. 18-20 lbs heavier?

I can't remember exactly but I believe Jake at Back Water told me the Honda was maybe a mile an hour slower. I'm not positive though.

 Re: Backwaterinc.com - you're welcome.
23 Swomp on my 1448 Lowe mod v jon with 2 guys and fishing gear does 16 to 17 upstream and 21 to 22 downstream on the Minnesota River. Haven't checked on the marsh when hunting. I'd guess around 15 with the blind on and 4-5 dozen deeks and 2 guys. Will be checking my speeds this fall though cuz so many people ask.

I've gotten up to 23.5 with my swomp 35 on a 1542 alumacraft but that was unloaded and the water was glass. With another guy and a load, I run around 16 to 17.5. Don't be scared to go big

Good video. I was waiting for you to hit a stump and that chick on the cooler to go for a swim. I just put a clutch lever on my 23 today. It was kind of a bitch.
