Hey guys, I'm new to the site and hoping to get some useful insight for a potential project. So here's what I'm Thinking, I've got an older 6.5/5hp go devil long tail that I've been using on my duck boat for a while. I've been considering trying to upgrade to a larger engine. I have an opportunity to buy a used Kohler 25 horse engine for almost nothing so even though it's larger than I was planning on going I'd like to try to make It work. What issues am I going to run in to if I try to put this thing together. I have my own shop, I can fabricate just about whatever I need as far as brackets mounts or linkages. I Know the output shaft on the engine will need some sort of adapter made by a machine shop and I'm not sure about how I can put a larger prop on either. What else? Any input would be great, thanks |
