| Post subject: | sinless grade for bearing cup ??? |
Well I'm gonna build a longtail with my nephew most likely with the mad mud motor plans but I plan on turning bearing cups on the lathe I was wondering what grade stainless others have used my local place likely has 304 or 316 but I can order online if something is way better any suggestions

I use 17 - 4 for drive shafts, and 303 stainless for random parts as it machines nicer than 304. I build out of aluminum and so use 6061 for my bearing and seal housings. Mark F. Cheney |
