How low in the water should my prop be running? At wot it is about 1' under the surface, is that right, or do I need to adjust my calvitation plate to make it ride higher? It's on a 1438 jon boat, 13 hp scavenger. I MIGHT be getting 8 mph. It does squat some in the back but I think it's due to the prop being so low in the water. With the handle that is on it I'm sitting in the middle of the boat, |

My cavitation plate runs about 1" under the water. If I adjust it any high it wants to blow out of the water. From what I have read and seen 1" is about right. |

I can force it ,by pushing down ,to run 1" below the surface, but I loose speed. I think its due to the calvitation plate being angled down. The one on the scavenger is adjustable. It is mounted on studs. All I need to do is put washers on the front studs, and it should point the plate up some, that should raise the prop. |
