 25 Kohler throttle cable
I have replaced the cable back in Jan and have taken the boat out one time since. I went today to fire it up and the cable is frozen. Motor starts but, the motor will not increase power. Cable is frozen I think. Has anyone ever had this happen? Any ideas for a fix. Not looking to spend another $41 to replace it. Thanks for your help!

 Re: 25 Kohler throttle cable
Reach back at the carb, and open up the butterfly bypassing the cable. You should be able to visually verify that the lever is moving the cable through the sleeve as well. Start there.
You can get a throttle cable for a lawnmower at Lowe's, Home Depot, or similiar and make it work. You can also use a bicycle brake or gear selection cable. I used one for a push mower from Lowes, and it was under 10 bucks.

 Re: 25 Kohler throttle cable
no need for new cable turns out I had way over tightened the cable stay on the throttle and it was not free to float in the sleeve of the throttle. so lostened it a bit and she revs up and down just fine. Now I have to do to her is get the oil and filter changed , new plugs and new plug wires. and she will be ready for early goose season.
