I finally got rid of my homemade lt and bought a backwater 23hp swomp lite. Picked it up at backwater in freeport mn. Guys where awsome. Even let me test drive one on there pond. I have in mounted on a 1238 flat bottom. Plan on getting a 1448 next season. With 2 ppl iam getting 20mph. Backwater is the way to go. |

Congrats! I've run GD's, MB's, and now am a proud owner of a BW. This is a superior mfg. product, and I agree with you both about the great CS, hurrah to American tinkering and innovation. |

I had backwater kit on a 1448, you are better off with a 16 or 18x44. Congratulations on the new motor enjoy! Fyi- keep your eye on mmt classifieds for a mud hull. |

I was getting around 18mph on the 1236. That boat sat low in the water and was pushing alot of water. I just bought a 1542 and its alot better. Iam getting 20mph up river and 21 to 22mph down river. Thats with a load. Love this motor now. |
