Post subject: | MoMarsh Transom with PPF question |
Been stalking the forum for awhile looking for ideas. I have a MoMarsh Fatboy DP with the transom and recently bought a woodduck PPF for it. I am new to the mud motor scene and had a question concerning mounting it which is probably dumb. I noticed some people placing a cut 2x4 between the motor mount and the transom. Is this for stability, or because the two metals rubbing together creates a potential problem? Any advice is much appreciated. |

Its mainly so that the motor clamps have something to bite into and you don't lose your motor off the back of the boat. Metal is harder that wood and the motors will create enough vibration to wiggle off the transom. Notice all jon boats have wood transoms. |
