Been wanting another longtail rig for awhile but hated to spend the money on a new one. Found a 1638gd with 23 gdlt on it today. Frame needs new bushings and shaft and all but im pretty stoked. Ive had godevils mudbuddy and prodrive and going back old school. Really wanted to try a backwater but got this rig for way less than i could have bought just the motor |

Congrats! I wouldn't mind having that exact size and combo as a second boat in the fleet. |

I stay in tight timber and small hard bottom rivers. Its gonna be perfect. She is a tiny little thing. |

Good deal! Can't beat that recoil start if your battery runs down...you might want to go ahead and invest in a carburetor kit and rebuild that one to avoid problems. Run seafoam/stabil in the gas. A longtail will keep your arms limber; make sure the kill switch works and wear your lanyard in the timber... |

Stripped old floor out today and about 150lbs of foam. Gotta cut out new floor and get some paint on |

I know lots hate the flotation but there is some closed cell flotation/foam that works; I'd rather have some than none. Makes for a quiet, insulated floor. You can go with ss screws/washers so floor is not a real drudgery to remove. The stuff I ripped out of one rear pod on my grizzly was dry after a number of years. Instead of paint I recommend hydro-turf. Look for closeout sheets and specials to save $. |

phoneman7, did you get in touch with GD? As you probably now you need to give them the serial number stamped on the frame and they will give you what you need. Hope you can get it ready for teal season! |
