I have a 31 Go-Devil long tail with the older style air intake. Motor is an 03. I'm wondering if its possible to switch the air intake for the newer style vanguard air intakes that sit flat on top of the block. Any of y'all ever made the conversion???

Might have to change out the elbow behind the carb but it should be doable. Guess my question is why spend the time and money? Might be able to find the pieces used that someone with a modded motor has taken off.

Is it possible to leave the bend and just put a cone style air filter with an adaptor on it? That would eliminate some of your bulkiness without too much modification.

Yes FLWaterfowler, the intake thats on it is just too damn bulky and gets in the way of my blind. I may try that

I don't have the box but have often tossed around the idea of going this way and gutting the exhaust to get a little bit better flow. Just not sure if it's worth it on a 25 LT

Well gutting your exhaust is essentially free. Removing your air box doesn't cost anything, and I will see you the air filter adapter from Al Hodges at Performance V Twin with K&N Cone filter with very few hours for $50 tyd if you or anyone else is interested.

I've got a kohler or else I'd jump on it. That's a great price though for whoever decides to buy it.

Yeah I've looked into it, just not sure if I want to dump that kind of $$$$$ in a long tail. Although maybe it's time someone does and gives huck a run for his money! [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]
