I have a 15X46 alweld with a 2002 25 hp mudbuddy LT my average speed is 16 to 18 mph w/ me(260), cabelas northern flight blind and 6 dozen decoys. Is this a good speed or should it be faster |

Bud in that setup you are at Mach 1 speeds.I have been running longtails since 1979,there not fast but they will get you there and back.A buddy of mine still has my 1979 model and it runs great it's been repowerd but still runs the same leather seals and all.Back then there was only one manafacture. |

Yea I had a 99 model 25HP LT and 18MPH was about it. |

ok thanks thats what i wanted to know this is my first year hunting with a longtail and its like 4WD low i tried to stick it and havent YET |

Let me tell you if you stick it,you are stuck.It's best to have a friend with a mud motor to help you get out.I have a 1656 GD boat with a 31hp longtail and in the box is a come-along and a blade type anchor and they have been used.So watch what you wish for.Have fun and always keep your kill switch hooked to you. |
