Good day ladies and gents! I'm new to mud motord and looking for some advice on a longtail for my new boat, a 1748 aluminum mod V. My hunting load will be 3 people and a couple dozen decoys. The place I hunt has lots of vegetation so I'm more looking for power to keep from getting stuck, speed is not as much of a concern. I'm looking at a used go-devil or mud buddy style frame (not a Thai kit)- would 23 hp work well? There is a used kawi 27 up for sale in my area, but I'm not sure the extra weight would be worth it? Thanks for any advice! |

it will push you, don't expect you'll see much over 15mph. Backwarter seems to have a bit more speed to them.. $0.02 |

The 27 (kawa or kohler) is a significant torque increase over the 23. That kawa is a good engine. Put gatorglide on the bottom and up the sides of your boat, and it'll make a big difference in the veggies. #CFFITR #TheGhostBoat #whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |
