Of whats available in my area I have a 1644 or 1844 go devil boats. both have 20hp vanguard LT's on them. I know the conventional wisdom is to go for the longer boat but the 1644 has the split seat instead of the bench and I really dislike stepping over benches. I know the 1844 will carry the load better and I want to be able to take 3 men some times but I really dislike benches. Any help would be great. |

Sawzall and someone nearby that can weld a aluminum to close the now split bench back up. Don't go 2 ft shorter because you don't like a full bench. Trust us. #CFFITR #TheGhostBoat #whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |

Another vote for an 18'!! I personally would want an 1848, have a 1648 jon now...sure to run better with another 2' of hull! |

Ive owned both - 1644 and 1844 - get the 1844 it has better everything in terms of load carry - shallow operation - and as a bonus it works far better with the SDs too.... |

wait and find a 2044 with a split bench. lol or get the 1844 and have a welder split the bench. don't get the 1644, you'll hate it over the 1844. |
