I have a 1436 jon boat and I am thinking about hanging a 6.5 go devil on the back. What do you guys think? This is a much cheaper route than the 16 go devil that's why I want to go with it. I want enough power to push 2 men and hunting gear. I'm not worried about breaking speed records either. I just want enough power to get in and out of tight holes that we hunt. |

2 Men= Yes Hunting Gear(basic)=Yes Speed Record=No 2 300lb men=? 2 300lb men with lots of hunting gear=No Understand what I'm trying to say, keep it light and you should be fine. And wear your lifevest. |

i ran a 6.5 beavertail on my 14/36. top speed w/2 guys, dog and gear, 6 mph. needed to float the boat to move. not enough umpfff to push it through mud if the bottom was draggin. will get you back in tight spots, and should be light enough to drag across hard bottoms. |

thanks for the input fellas. it will be just me, my brother, 2 dozen decoys, and a dog. i weigh around 200 and he weighs just under 180. i just need to get in and out of the timber and tight spots. |

I run a 1436 with a 23! Right now i'm pushing me (260) a friend (200 average) two deep cycle batteries, gear, TM, 6 gals gas and whatever else and freeboard isnt a problem. I've run the thing in honest two foot seas like that and still no problems! Its all in the operator my friend! Dont forget to fasten your killswitch! (Btw that rig hits 21 max with just me, and 18-19 with two dudes!) |

Ran it today. It's almost like having a 454 chevy on a go cart! I'm very happy with it! |
