Post subject:  trollin motor longtail

i have been thinking about an experiment for my little 9 foot boat. i have an old trollin motor and was wonderin if with some emt conduit and pvc elbows i could rig it into a longtail. does anybody think it might work or am i wastin my time tryin to build it? any imput is appreciated.

What are you trying to accomplish? Do a author search for bootz and look at that thing he built a while back. If I remember correctly it was working out pretty well for him.

here you go bud. to do the search, hit the search tab up at the top of the page. it gives you a bunch of diff options on how to search. If you were trying it and it wasn't workin, its cuz I spelled his name wrong. Bootzz.

thats probobly what ill wind up doin, what size longtail u think i need fo a 1442 alumniweld 16 or 23?

It will go just fine with the 16. It will go bettr with the 23. Better means a little FASTER AND PUSH MORE WEIGHT.

Here is an idea - take an old golf cart apart - them motors have
some power and the variable speed and reverse too....
