Post need a lil input for a trolling motor
ok well i broke the ice i made my order at gator tail last thursday its an 18x54 extreme series w/35gtr i would like to get a 55 lb thrust scissor mount hand control. I have always been a minn kota man so i will probably stick to that so with that being said can you guys tell me the difference in the maxxum and the edge let me know what yall think

I think the one I got back in Febuary is a Maxxis. It is the one with varriable speed control and extended run time. The one I had before was All Terain (5 speed), it sucked. The new one is bad to the bone, especialy when you run 2 bateries on it.

I think the biggest difference is the mount. One is narrow one is not. I have the saltwater version of the edge, riptide SE it has the narrow mount. I have the same hull as you and it works great. I would spend the extra hundred on the quick release you will thank me later!

I have a 54lb. thrust 12V motorguide and that thing drags my boat all over the place like nothing.
