Well the oilfield has left many people without jobs and some with different positions.I have been with the same company for 11 years and through 3 different owners.The first 8 years i was a Allison Transmission Mechanic worked all over Texas,Mexico and Louisiana.The last three I took the position as a Project Manager..We have not had a paying job in our shop for 2 months now.We have laid off 13 in Victoria.Shut the doors on our Houston,Grand Junction,and Canada shops and I have still survived the cuts.Last week i was asked if i would travel to Liberty TX and work for 2 weeks.Course i said what ever it takes.So i have been there a couple days now.When this morning i was asked by the VP if i liked to travel and I said sure.Well i was sent home after some clothes and my Passport and i leave tomorrow at 3pm headed for Norway...I will be spending 15 to 20 days in Norway rebuilding the Draw works on a Offshore Rig.So wish me luck and see you all at Caddo.

I am in Bergen.Working 12 to 14 hours a day.Not much time for playing.Eat sleep and work.Temps are in the 50s and we wre in am heated shop.The food sucks.I bought a 6 pack of Bud for 17 dollars.Nothing is cheap.Peace out.

My work is done here in Norway.I will be back home Sunday.Made some very good money the last 14 days.Worked 16 hours a day for the last 5 days and have climbed so many flights of stairs since i have been here i dont care if this rig sinks when i take my last step off.
