Re: 6.0 down for the count!
Reason it cost so much to do the studs and change head gaskets is cause the whole cab has to be removed on the fords to access the engine, PITA if you ask me, i don't know why they made them that way.....Head studs, EGR delete, 4" MBRP straight piped from the turbo, PCV reroute, and a good spartan toon will make her come alive, 6.0's can make some power but you better have deep pockets, be careful with injector rates cause you can fowl them faster than shit with a miss programmed computer! Good Luck, oh and if you plan on bigger turbo and better beefier tunes you better look into put a tranny under that thing.

Re: 6.0 down for the count!
yeah i know i might just hold off on the turbo this is going to probally cost 10 grand how it is ! But the guy thats doing the work has done lots of guys in town says he just takes the motor out and leaves the cab on it. cheapier and easier

Re: 6.0 down for the count!
Egr Delete, ARP headstuds, better oil cooler, and ytou have a SOLID 6.0 truck. You will need a tuner to stop EGR codes Im pretty sure, but a mile tune will only help you not hurt you. My buddy did it to his dad's 6.0 BEFORE he had problems.

Re: 6.0 down for the count!
I don't know about the rest of the country, but over here the resale values on the 6.0's is horrible. Hopefully Ford got it right with the new 6.7's but it's be a few years before we know for sure.
I have an 06 F-150 5.4L with the two piece spark plugs and I didn't know about it till it was time to change them. So when I took it in, the service manager told me changing them would cost me anywhere from $300 to $3000 depending on how many broke. Anyway, I changed them all myself and only one broke but this makes me think that Ford is pulling this type of crap on purpose. You drop anywhere from 30 to 60k for these trucks then they require a major repair down the line that costs an additional 10%+ of what you bought the truck for. I guess we'll see one wonderful surprises they engineered in the new 6.2's and 6.7's.
